Rapunzel Journal page by Gemma

A couple of days off December, which is a super busy month for me as I am sure it is for lots of you, I am so behind. I wanted to take some time to play in my art journal, so I have a page to share with you all today inspired by this window stamp from The Artistic Stamper that always reminds me of Rapunzel, so I added a quote from the story 'That beautiful bird is no longer sitting in her nest, nor is she singing anymore'

After laying Gesso down I sprayed some purple sprays I had left over from a different project, while they were wet I sponged areas for texture. Once that was dry I made some marks with a black paint pen.

Then I randomly stamped over the top with a calligraphy mat. On a separate sheet of card, I stamped the window and heat embossed it with black embossing powder.

I made a pencil mark so I knew where I wanted the window to be, and then masked round the section I wanted to use on Jennies flourish stencil.  Once I had the stencil in position I applied I mixture of green paint and texture paste.

While waiting for that to dry I stamped several flowers and a butterfly onto card. After colouring them in with pencils and distress ink I cut them out and glued them into place.

Thank you for popping by

Thank you and Goodbye! By Debs

Hi everyone

As you will may now be aware I am stepping down form The Design Team and I would like to thank you all for your support over the last two and half years, for the lovely comments you have made and most of all for giving me the opportunity to showcase my work to you.  I would also like wish Lisa and Jane good luck and hope that they have as much fun on the team as i have had.

It has been a great privilege to have been part of The Artistic Stamper Design Team, and i can only apologise that i have not posted  as much as i should have done this year.  Life and work seem to have taken over.

I have been asked by Jennie to select my favourite projects of the last two and half years - this wasn't quite as hard as i thought.  I think my favourite has to be this one, a reverse canvas with lots of lovely textures from May 2016  I see it everyday as it sits on my craft room windowsill!

Next up is this small canvas from May 2015 and i believe this was my first project for the team, which is why it had "hello" stamped in the lightbulb!

This tag from June 2016, had all of my favourites on - bright colours, paste, stamping doodling and texture

Another tag this time from earlier this year, i just loved all of the layers on this one, and i had great fun creating the spring for the stem of the flower, winding wire around a pencil

Thank you all again, you will never know how much your support has meant to me and in fact how much it helped me through a difficult period.

Take care and happy crafting

Debs
xx

Autumn card by Titbelsoeur

Hello happy crafters !
You have still one week left to participate in our monthly challenge "use a quote". To help you find inspiration, I have made a fall card.
I have first coloured the paper with Distress inks spritzed with water, then stamped the quote "seize the moment" from the Journaling Words 3 size A5 plate.I hid it with paper and stamped Leaves Background C89 ©CaroLines all around. And in the end, I stamped a mushroom from this plate : Mushrooms A5 Plate © Tit Belsoeur

Pocket sketch book by Gemma

We are a couple of weeks into this months challenge there has been some lovely entries so far and there is still plenty of time to join in both on the blog and the facebook page.

For my post today I have created a little pocket sketchbook using mixed media paper just in case I don't want to stick to sketching alone.

The quote is one I love and use often, and even though my mind has totally blanked while I write this I want to say it was said by Picasso (please correct me if I am wrong)

After cutting some cereal box to the size I wanted, I wrapped it in brown paper and cut down some mixed media card for the pages. On a smaller piece of paper, I stamped the fantasy background stamp designed by Neil Walker. Once the ink had dried added distress ink and doodled over the top with a white pen.

After glueing the image to my cover I just needed to punch holes in the top of all the pages so I could put them together with a couple of rings. I chose to attach everything together this way instead of binding everything permanently so I can add more pages when I need to.

Thank you for reading

The darkest nights...by Angie Coomber

For this month's post I looked back through my art journals for some inspiration and came across a Birgit Koopsen technique I learnt last year.

For this page I chose some acrylic paints (yellows, white and a tiny bit of red) and painted a page in my journal.

I used the Artistic Stamper Mini Masks and the same colours to add some stencilling.

Next I added some stamping (The Artistic Stamper Mini Backgrounds #2 Mini Backgrounds#3 and Star Plethora) (I like any excuse to use stars on my pages!)

I used blue paint to carefully paint around the stars, adding a little white paint towards the top of the page for a slightly lighter blue.

I used the background and star stamps to add some white embossing.

Lastly some doodling and of course the quote!
Hope you like it.

November's Creative Challenge - Use a Quote

Hi
A Big thank you to everyone who joined in last month's challenge. We loved all the creations.
This month's challenge is Use a Quote and can be interpreted any way you like, as long as it has rubber stamping in it.

To join in with this challenge (we are limiting the challenge entries to 3 per person), is simple; all we would like you to do is, make a piece of artwork, making sure that you include the theme and some rubber stamping. Pop back here to link up using the Inklinkz at the bottom of this post, so that we can see what you've made and then, leave us a comment to let us know you have joined in with the challenge.
As always, there will be candy for one randomly picked entrant - the winner will receive a stamp of their choice from The Artistic Stamper .

In addition, you can enter the same challenge on Facebook!

To join us on just go to our new Facebook group, and send us a request to join..  There will be a prize for the Facebook challenge, as well as the blog challenge!
And don't forget....if you use The Artistic Stamper stamps on your entry, you will entered into the draw, twice! To get you started here are creations from some of the team....

Titbelsoeur
Here is an art journal page done on a book page, the Houses are stamped with Archival Ink - Wendy Vecchi using the "cache" technique, one over the others again and again, I have stamped the quote on to a blank paper to highlight it, I have inked the page with various Distress inks applied with ink blending tool and foam and I have painted the "homes" with  Distress inks used as watercolors

This was a fun messy project playing with Gellatos on a canvas board, once I had created the background I stamped the large lightbulb onto a piece of card and before glueing it to the board I filled it by stamping some butterflies. Once the lightbulb was glued in place and dry I added some silver to the top and edged everything in black pen.

We hope that you will join in this month's challenge, and also join us on Facebook too.

We look forward to seeing your creations. Don't forget to add a comment when you have posted your entry.

Have a very creative month

Jennie
